Specialty Products

One of the oldest conserving devices on the market falls into a category of its own, as its method of oxygen conservation differs quite dramatically from the devices previously described.

Disposable Reservoir Cannulas
The disposable reservoir cannula was first introduced in 1983 by CHAD Therapeutics. This patented product remains exclusive to CHAD today. It is perhaps the simplest on the market, operating without batteries, controls or valves. Disposable reservoir cannulas can be used with any oxygen supply source that is set at continuous flow, including concentrators, liquid oxygen and compressed gas.

These devices conserve oxygen quite differently from other products on the market. Whereas traditional conservers cut off the flow of oxygen during exhalation, disposable reservoir cannulas collect and store this oxygen in a reservoir. This oxygen is then released upon inhalation, supplementing the oxygen delivered via continuous flow. The delivery of this supplemental oxygen enables you to reduce the overall flow of oxygen while still maintaining adequate saturation levels...extending the life of your oxygen supply by up to four times.
